Tinkering with ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ BearCode
Bearblog has rekindled my love of tinkering. I haven't coded for what feels like millennia; it's been at least a decade since I coded something 'proper' and everything has changed. Back when I first taught myself to code it was PHP includes and CSS was simple. I made graphics in Photoshop and pulled them using includes. Now you can do almost anything in the CSS backend and it is blowing my mind. I feel like such a dinosaur.
I've been playing this morning though, taking inspiration from other Bear's and pottering around on the playground to see what I can achieve. I was aiming for an enchanted forest vibe, I'm not sure I've achieved quite what I wanted but it's getting there. I foresee a few more days of fiddling around. I really wanted to add a little header graphic instead of my simple name as the blog title, but I'm not sure I can achieve that on my little free account...
Things I hope to achieve:
- Add a polaroid effect around any images in posts
- Alter the highlighting colour effect to a nice peach
- Add a simple header image above the navigation, and a smaller on in the footer panel
- Add more sections to the front homepage
- Actually add some content to the 'About me' page
- Adapt the Guestbook colouring to compliment the new theme
